AgileData Newsletter #11
Understanding how Events, Concepts and Details relate to each other is an important part of the data design process.
So we added some simple matrix screens so that you can see those relationships at a glance.
Three Agile Testing Methods – TDD, ATDD and BDD
Test driven, Acceptance driven and Behaviour driven testing are three different testing patterns. All three have value if you apply them to your data domain.
TDD focus is “does the code do what it is required to do?”
ATDD focus is “does the solution do what it is required to do”?
BDD focus is “do the features and the data behave like they are required to do”?
Testing and data used to go together like oil and water.
But that is changing and we are seeing more and more data teams starting to create automated tests for both the code and the data as part of their way of working.

Reducing Manual Effort, Everywhere, Every Time
One of the things that we are obsessively focused on is to remove the time it takes to undertake repetitive tasks.
It’s the reason for automation.
Loading data from systems of record and making it available for use is a task that should be automated. But how automated can you make it.
We have cut a lot of time off that process, but there is still work to be done.
Agile Data Testing Techniques, A Magical List of Testing TLA’s
At AgileData we believe creating data tests is as important as creating transformation code.
Join Shane and Nigel as they discuss the concepts you need to understand to start your journey on the DataOps and automated data testing path.
