Agile Benefits
Need examples of the benefits a new Way of working can bring to your Data & Analytics teams to persuade this higher ups to give you permission to invest in the change?
Here are the benefits we cite early and often when a data leader needs to get permission to invest in their data and analytics teams.
We should only document the benefits when it is absolutely necessary to do so, and we should have already collaborated with key stakeholders to get agreement before we document anything.
If the first time the key stakeholders hear about the plan to adopt a new way of working is when your benefits paper is submitted to the steering committee, then you have a long and hard road to climb.

Scott Baldwin - Product Management vs Feature Factories
Often in the data domain we hear the words, just send me the data!
We often go back wanting to understand the business problem that needs to be solved so we can add more value than just doing a data extract.
And the request to just send data is repeated.
Data family, we are not alone!
In the product domain this is called a feature factory, where teams are asked to ship features, not move the dial on a business outcome.
And just like the data you often deliver with such urgency, a lot of the features shipped are neither used.
Great podcast with Scott Baldwin on how the product teams need to shift focus from features shipped to value created because most of the features they build arent used.
Have a listen and you will realise you are not alone!

Christian Crumlish - The Intersection between UX Design and Product Management
At AgileData we are focussed on building a SaaS Data Product that removes the complexity of managing data.
But we also know there is more to success than just magical technology. People, practise and process are just as important.
And that is why we freely share our AgileData Way of Working (WoW) which combines patterns from the agile, product and data domains.
In this podcast Christian Crumlish talks about the intersection between UX Design and Product Management. We love people who shares ways of combing patterns from multiple domains.

Observability, Tick
Data observability is not something new, its a set of features every data platform should have to provide visibility to enable the data team to get the data jobs done.
But its amazing how many data platforms don't have that capability and force you to build it yourself or buy and integrate yet another data tool to do it.
As a small team supporting our customers we needed to automate the observability of the data, so we didn't need to review and track it manually.
Nigel Vining discusses some of the patterns we used to do this.

Data Search
Often you just want to search some data to see if a particular data value exists in that data set.
So we added that feature to the data preview in the AgileData App.
Find that data you are looking for in a flash.

Agile WoW - Q&A
Join Shane Gibson, Hamish Gray and May-Lyn Hu as they talk through some of the experiences they have had in their organisation applying agile and data together in a new way of working.
We are always amazed at the different paths data and analytics teams follow when crafting their own AgileData Way of Working.
The Data Value Streams (shapes) they make by combining different patterns (Lego blocks) together are awesome.
We loved this podcast where we experimented with a Q&A format to talk about what patterns they should experiment with next.
